¾ oz (23ml) cognac
½ oz (15 ml) orange syrup
Angostura bitter dashes
5 oz (150 ml) very cold dry sparkling wine
Orange zest (for garnish)
In a chilled flute, pour the cognac, syrup and bitters.
Slowly add cold sparkling wine.
Garnish with an orange zest.
About our Champagne Cocktail
A mythical cocktail that was served at the inauguration of the Eiffel Tower in 1889, it is an Old Fashioned with champagne and cognac. Sugar and bitter enhance the interaction between the cognac grape and the champagne grape.
