Champagne Classic Cocktail
¾ oz (23ml) cognac
1 cane sugar cube
3 dashes of Angostura bitters
5 oz (150 ml) very cold champagne
Orange zest (to garnish)
Place the sugar cube on a napkin and saturate it with bitters. To book.
In a chilled flute, pour the cognac.
Slowly add cold champagne.
Gently add the sugar cube so that it falls to the bottom of the glass.
Decorate with an orange zest.
About our Champagne Classic Cocktail
A mythical cocktail that was served at the inauguration of the Eiffel Tower in 1889, it is an Old Fashioned with champagne and cognac. Sugar and bitter enhance the interaction between the cognac grape and the champagne grape.
