About our Grog with Lime Syrup
Grog was somehow invented in 1740 by Admiral Vernon of the British Navy (nicknamed Old Grog), when he decreed that the traditional ration of rum would be diluted to a ratio of 1/4 rum to 3/ 4 hot water to prevent drunkenness among sailors. Lime juice and sugar were suggested to mask the acrid taste of the stagnant water in the barrels of the hold. A classic was born, but also the whole base of mixology!
