Tequila Old fashioned with Orange Syrup
Ingredients :
1 ¼ oz (38 ml) reposado tequila
¾ oz (22 ml) mezcal
1 C. 1/2 tsp (5 mL) agave syrup or orange syrup
3 dashes of orange bitters
Orange zest (for garnish)
Preparation :
In a mixing glass, add all the ingredients and fill with ice.
Stir with a chopstick or bar spoon until your fingers are cool.
Strain into a short glass fitted with a large cube of ice.
Garnish with an orange zest.
About our Tequila Old fashioned with Orange Syrup
Also known as Oaxaca Old Fashioned, it was one of my personal favorites when I tasted it for the first time, sitting at the Death & Co bar in New York. The vegetal and smoky notes are round and float on the bitterness of orange.
