Zombie with Grenadaine Syrup

Ingredients :

3 oz (90 ml) dark rum

¼ oz (8ml) absinthe

1 ¼ oz (38 ml) tiki syrup

¼ oz (8 ml) grenadine syrup

1 oz (30 ml) lime juice

1 slice of ginger

2 maraschino cherries

Paper umbrella and cherry (for garnish)

Preparation :

In a shaker, mash the cherries and ginger in the syrups.

Add remaining ingredients except grenadine

and mix with ice.

Strain into a tiki glass or tall glass filled with ice.

Slowly add the grenadine.

Garnish with a paper umbrella and a cherry

Fantastic cocktail invented by Don The Beachcomber himself in 1934 (one of the most famous bartenders in history), the Zombie is the emblem of the Tiki period, where rum cocktails in a kitsch setting made it possible to escape. Warning: this cocktail is to be enjoyed in moderation and you should never take more than one.
