French 75 with Lemon Syrup
Ingredients :
1 ¼ oz (38 ml) gin (citrus/spicy/juniper/herbaceous/vegetable)
½ oz (15 ml) de sirop de citron
½ oz (15 ml) lemon syrup
3 oz (90 ml) champagne or dry sparkling wine (cava, prosecco)
Preparation :
Put all the ingredients in a shaker, except the bubbles.
Fill with ice cream and stir until your fingers get very cold.
Strain through a fine strainer into a chilled flute.
Add sparkling wine.
Garnish with a lemon zest.
About our French 75 with Lemon Syrup
Also called simply a “Seventy-Quinze”, this cocktail became a classic after the publication of The Savoy Cocktail Book (1930), although its creation dates back further. It's a cocktail that packs a punch, like the French 75 mm guns used during the First World War to which it owes its name.
