Apple Mojito with Lemon Syrup

Ingredients :

1 oz calvados

½ oz (15 ml) lemon syrup

3 basil leaves

1 1/2 oz sparkling cider

Apple wedge and basil leaf (for garnish)

Preparation :

In a high glass, add all the ingredients, except the cider.

Fill the glass with ice and stir with a stick or a spoon.

Top with sparkling cider.

Garnish with an apple wedge and a bunch of fresh basil.

When the time comes to create a cocktail, all you have to do is adopt a theme (here, autumn) and then stick it to a recipe you already know (the mojito). Then, follow the original recipe to the letter, substituting the ingredients for others (calvados instead of rum, lemon instead of lime, basil instead of mint, etc.) The strength of this cocktail thirst-quenching lies in the use of Calvados which, dry and long in the mouth, warms a heart already stimulated by the freshness of sparkling cider, basil and lemon.
